A few releases later, I came across a very helpful tutorial series by LinuxGuides about creating STK tracks using Blender, and that was the point where I started my first projects for STK, most of which are now avaible on STK Add-ons website. It should generally not be necessary for users to contact the original maintainer. I started playing SuperTuxKart release 0.7. Debian Games Team (Mail Archive) Sam Hocevar Vincent Cheng. My last project was to create an haunted mansion to showcase our android version and designing our new website. After more than 7 years working for SuperTuxKart, I created some of the most complex and challenging tracks like Cocoa Temple or Antediluvian Abyss.

I started to mod maps for fun and eventually I made my first map, Hacienda. When I installed for the first time Linux in 2009, while searching for games available on Linux, one of the most popular game was SuperTuxKart. I quickly started doing programming on the game’s core, especially the GUI and the various blender plugins. I joined the SuperTuxKart team a few years ago, originally to help with the graphics. The most disappointing point is that we often get people interested in helping to develop STK, but they then disappear leaving a less than half finished mess of code behind. It of course means that Auria and myself sometimes have to be the (hopefully) benevolent dictators, but I think that is very important in order to keep STK on track. With the addon-server we luckily have now the option to publish karts and tracks that might not fit in the main game for everyone to download. We nevertheless try to maintain the vision where we want STK to be at. Hiker: In contrast to commercial game design we have only limited influence on the 'style' of tracks, since especially the kart and track design is done by various artists, mostly following their own taste.
